Middle School Science Teacher 6-8-Full -Time-Innovation Science and Technology Academy, 2024/2025 School Year Position: Middle School Science Teacher-6-8, 2024/2025 School Year Type of Job: 1.0 FTE Middle School Science Teacher-6-8 Innovation Academy is looking for a creative and results-driven teacher who will be responsible for instructing students in a STEM school from grades 6-8. The goal-oriented middle school science teacher is responsible for supporting the STEM learning of Innovation Academy students. The candidate must be culturally responsive, instruct students on subjects such as science, reading, math, writing, and lab activities. Overall, be skilled in the ability to create a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional program. We are looking to hire talented Teachers to join our existing top-notch team. Start Date: August 2024 (or later based upon availability) Job Responsibilities • Understand and support Innovation Academy’s mission and vision while promoting a positive image of the school • Provide hand-on activities and rigorous STEM learning that will spark students’ interest in STEM. • Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff • Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required • Manage student behavior in accordance with outlined guidelines • Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus • Integrate competencies, goals, and STEM objectives into lesson plans • Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served Skills Needed • Ability to provide hand-on activities to students • Ability to effectively teach middle school science • Highly developed oral and written communication skills • Ability to build relationships effectively and professionally with families and students • Demonstration of continued professional development through coursework, action research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development • Prior success with diverse learners is desirable • Experience developing and implementing curriculum while having the ability to integrate STEM into the daily schedule • Physical ability to handle frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and moving throughout the room • Proven ability to maintain a safe and studious classroom environment • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum • Strong Google Apps for Education skills (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, etc.) Qualifications/Experiences • Minimum of Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. • Valid Minnesota Middle School Science Teaching License Salary: Competitive About the School: Innovation Academy is a tuition-free charter school that opened in the Fall 2020 for PreK-5 and now expanding to PreK-8 in the 4th year of opening, FY 25.
