North Lakes Academy Charter School is seeking experienced and reliable Substitute Teachers for immediate work. Minnesota short-call substitute or pilot substitute license required, additional experience working with children of all ages is preferred. $180/day. School hours 7:15- 2:15 pm. Substitutes are responsible for maintaining a classroom environment designed by our high-quality teaching staff and following the lesson plans provided to them on a daily basis. North Lakes Academy (NLA) is a K-12 charter school located in Forest Lake, Minnesota, a community about 25 miles north of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The school was organized by a group of Forest Lake area parents and teachers seeking an alternative to the large junior high schools available to the children in the community. NLA was chartered in the spring of 1999 and opened for operation that fall. In 2009, we expanded to include grades 9-12, and grew again in 2019 when we opened a new facility to add grades K-4. Currently, we operate an elementary campus (grades K-6) and a secondary campus (grades 7-12) both in Forest Lake, serving a total of 550 students. At all grade levels, we embrace the principles of small class sizes, personalized learning, and a diverse liberal arts education, which includes fostering the emotional intelligence of our students and building strong relationships between families, staff, and students.
