High School College & Career Coordinator
St. Anthony Village High School (SAVHS) will provide a personally challenging, engaging, and inclusive education for all students in preparation for a successful future.
Position Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and results driven Career and College Coordinator committed to ensuring that all SAVHS graduates excel in post-secondary pathways including trades, apprenticeships, workforce participation, or attending degree granting institutions. This year round position involves working during standard school hours, with occasional nights and weekends for hosting family/student events.
Role and Responsibilities:
Career & College Coordinator
Develop in collaboration with community partners (families, teachers, counselors) career pathways.
Develop community partnerships with the Chamber of Commerce.
Develop relationships with commercial, service, and other businesses in the metro area.
Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and college admissions officers
Provide personal, academic, and career counseling that fosters the personal growth, educational development, and well-being of all students
Advise students on all aspects of the career & college search, application, and admission process
Teach seminar style workshops on college access and preparing for applying to college for all grades
Plan and lead parent/guardian workshops about various topics (FAFSA, Career Interests, etc.)
Manage PSEO application process and track students participating in PSEO
Support ACT registration and testing
Coordinate resources for ACT Prep
Build partnerships with various college campuses for specific career pathways
Partner with 916 and support registration of students into 916 program
Support seniors applying to various colleges and programs, counsel on various career paths and options
Build programs and build out community collaborations(looking to expand workforce and trade opportunities)
Assist and develop Huskie Seminar for Freshman and Senior Capstone.
Summer Programs
Build and maintain our summer program opportunities (both national and local opportunities)
Identify local summer program opportunities/partners
Support students participating in summer programs
Outreach
Schedule college representative visits to SAVHS
Schedule and planning college campus visits for grades 9-12
Build community partnerships to expand offerings to students
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Master in school Counseling(Preferred but not required)
Experience with adolescent career and college exploration
College access/persistence support work experience (preferred 2 years+)
Experience working with underserved students and families
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals with diverse backgrounds
Ability to self-direct and prioritize among competing goals and to initiate process improvements
Flexibility and willingness to contribute when necessary on projects outside of own department
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Strong achievement orientation with exceptional time management skills and demonstrated ability to multitask
Fast learner with the ability to inquire and be open to collaborative feedback
Bilingual (English/Spanish) (Preferred but not required)
College admission experience, project management, or event planning(Preferred but not required)
This position reports to the high school principal.
The 11 month coordinator contract salary ($74,000 - $84,000) is based on experience.
