Job Summary: * Responsible for the production of all meals/snacks in the absence of Secondary Assistant Leads and Elementary Leads * Responsibilities include understanding the comp[lexity of food preparation based on the various planned menus and the individual site equipment. * Ability to prepare and follow standardized recipes/diverse scratch recipes. * Oversee special diet requests Essential Duties and Responsibilites: * Manage production of all meals to ensure that local, state, and federal guidelines are followed. (35%) * Manage production of planned menu items that meet the required food components and portion sizes * Determine prepared food volumes based on the site assignment * Ensure that students with special diet accommodations receive the correct meals * Assist with the set-up of serving lines and assign serving stations * Train staff to improve performance and developmental needs employing cross-training techniques * Responsible to handle a number of food allergens and meat varieties * Adhere to District's HACCP plan * Greet customers and promote the meal programs offered at the site * Follow and ensure staff comply with health department, USDA and local, state and Federal regulations * Perform other tasks within the level of responsibilites indicated above as assigned by the SNS Manager * Oversee SNS Computer system tasks and day-end procedures (30%) * Oversee SNS computer system with the entering of faily student numbers, payments and adjustments. * Ensure student account confidentiality, PIN numbers and eligibility status. * Ensure all student meals claimed meet the reimbursble USDA guidelines. * Conduct day end required reports. * Ordering and Record Keeping (35%) * Order food/supplies from established vendors based on calculated quantities on order days * Monitor daily food deliveries to ensure accuracy * Complete daily food producation records and equipment temperature reports * Conduct monthly site inventory report * Complete any necessary staff injury reports * Ability to wor alone and be responsible for all decisions at a single site when needed. * Follow and ensure staff comply with health department, USDA and local, state anmd Federal regulations Qualifications: * Experience in a public school kitchen and/or background in related food service operations. * Knowledge of government guidelines and procedures concerning sanitation and safety. * Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. * Must have completed or be willing to enroll and complete the Sanitation and Safety and the School Nutrition Programs courses for Minnesota School Food Services Certification. * Computer skills and experience or willing to learn. * Regular, on-time attendance is required. * Stooping, bending, occasional awkward positions may be necessary to perform essential functions of the position. Must be able to lift 31-50 lbs. * High School diploma or GED preferred.
