Human Resources and Operations Coordinator
As a key member of our administrative team, the Human Resources and Operations Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the effective functioning of our human resources department and supporting key operational areas. Human Resources:
* Provide comprehensive support for all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, benefits administration, leave management (FMLA), and employee relations and employee experience.
* Serve as the district liaison with insurance carriers, managing enrollment, eligibility, and resolving benefit-related issues.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, employment regulations, and data privacy requirements.
* Collaborate with the Executive Director of HR/Operations on strategic HR initiatives and enhance the employee experience.
* Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
Operations:
* Provide support for key operational functions, including transportation, student information systems, and food service.
* Assist with worker's compensation, unemployment claims, and other HR-related matters.

Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent job-related experience.
Strong understanding of and commitment to human resources principles and practices.

Specific job description:
The Human Resources & Operations Coordinator has primary responsibility for the administrative support and execution of the day-to-day human relations and operations functioning. This position will work directly with the areas of worker’s compensation, benefits, unemployment and onboarding, as well as work independently on special projects as assigned. This position will also work to varying degrees to support transportation, student information systems, and food service functions. Administrative licensure is preferred, as some duties as assigned may require supervisory involvement.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary school in a related field or job-related experience.
Administrative license preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assists Executive Director of HR/Operations regarding labor relations information.
2. Access, use, and disseminate labor relations information on behalf of the HR department and superintendent, as needed.
3. Attends and presents at school board meetings when necessary.
4. Assures compliance with legal requirements related to labor laws, employment, data privacy and confidentiality requirements.
5. Manages enrollment, orientation and execution of the district’s hospitalization/medical, dental, life, and long-term disability plans.
6. Serves as the district liaison with insurance carriers for employee enrollment and eligibility management.
7. Communicates employee insurance election and employee benefit/deduction codes to payroll.
8. Facilitates insurance plan issues for plan members.
9. Interprets benefit sections in all bargaining unit contracts and determines eligibility.
10. Serves on the Insurance Committee and Wellness Committee.
11. Processes COBRA with third party COBRA administrator.
12. Conducts annual insurance information sessions and open enrollment periods for all employee benefits.
13. Verifies health and dental insurance billing statements with district enrollment data to ensure accuracy of enrollment and payroll interface.
14. Manages district post-employment insurance payments, record keeping, eligibility tracking and communication.
15. Serves as district contact for Third Party Administrator of Flexible Spending Accounts.
16. Process Flex enrollments with TPA and verify semi-monthly payroll deductions for participants.
17. Administers benefit program for staff on approved leaves of absence.
18. Coordinates district wide health promotion information and activities. Serve as a resource for site-based health promotion activities.
19. Maintains current master retiree list.
20. Responsible for FMLA and extended leaves of absence.
21. ACA and GASB75 reporting and other federal/state reporting requirements.
22. Initiates long-term disability claims with employee and carrier.
23. Processes county health and welfare forms as requested by staff.
24. Updates benefits related information on the District website.
25. Maintains confidentiality of all department material and insurance benefits information.
26. Assists with HR/Operations priority project implementation
27. Administers and facilitates new employee orientation and onboarding processes.
