SUMMARY:
The OST Activity Supervisor (OAS) is responsible for understanding and implementing Kids & Company program philosophy, policies, and procedures. Through maintaining a safe, healthy environment for students following program health and safety procedures. In addition, The OAS is responsible for developing curriculum and daily schedules that allows students to build relationships, explore interests, new experiences, through culturally representative and responsive enrichment and academic skill building. OAS, will supervise, direct, train, and evaluate the performance of activity assistants and volunteers. The OAS, will partner with the OST Lead Supervisor, to plan, organize, and supervise age appropriate field trips and special events for children.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Support the Kids & Company mission to provide a fun, safe enriching experience in a respectful and nurturing environment and promote life-long learning skills in all students and youth during out-of-school time and uphold the five core values.
· Support the program goals by:
o Providing opportunities for students to learn by making choices that contribute to both their growth in life-long learning skills and their development into becoming respectful and responsible adults.
o Providing a safe and inclusive environment where all students have belonging, opportunity, and resources
o Providing students with new experiences and involvement in the community
o Supporting families by providing community resources and support.
o Providing opportunities for students to succeed by collaborating with Special Services and Classroom teachers in relation to child studies, TSAT, Transition meetings, and IEP management.
· Lead the development of curriculum and daily schedule that fosters the individual growth and development of all students and youth, in before and after school care, non-school days, special events, and field trips.
· Develop and implement effective and enriching anti-bias, anti- racist, inclusive environment and curriculum in alignment with Vision 2031, Hopkins Public Schools mission, Kids & Company mission, and MNSACA standards.
· Support students when special needs arise, including but not limited to, toileting, de-escalation, and limited program accommodations when needed.
· Assist overall supervision of children and in staffing ratio.
· Establish and maintain an effective communication strategy to keep students, their families, Kids & Company and school staff, and community.
· Work with the Lead Supervisor to enroll and orient new and existing families to Kids & Company
· Orient, train, coach, supervise, and evaluate site staff and assist in implementing staff professional development and teamwork.
· Maintain staff professional development records based on identified needs of staff and program improvement goals including required training to meet DHS and MNSACA standards.
· Assist in the coordination of Non-School Day staffing and schedules, including assigning substitutes
· Coordinate the ordering of snacks, materials and supplies to deliver quality programming.
· Implement and follow DHS Standards as a CCAP certified center
· Assist with the maintenance of accurate student records, and any other business forms as needed.
· Maintain professionalism and confidentiality regarding staff, students, and their families.
· Implement and manage quarterly Supervisor Professional Learning Community meetings
· Performing other related tasks and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the OST Lead Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience:
* B.S. degree in education or related field or equivalent of education and experience
* Previous successful experience working with elementary age children in a recreational setting (at least two years of experience preferred)
* Knowledge of developmental needs of children.
* Good communication and organizational skills.
* Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and children.
* Current CPR and First Aid certification required or within 30 days of hire date.
FTE: 1.0
Salary: Follows the K&Co Agreement: $20.33 to $26.50, DOE.
