Visual Arts Teacher, Middle School - The Blake School

The Blake School seeks a talented and committed Middle School visual art teacher to begin in the 2025-26 school year. This teaching artist will integrate the mission of the school into an engaging, inclusive visual art curriculum, fostering creativity while guiding students in developing their artistic skills, critical-thinking skills and cultural/global awareness. The successful candidate will be an actively practicing artist with significant middle school teaching experience, an understanding of the developmental needs of middle grades learners and genuine enthusiasm for working with early adolescents. This position reports directly to both the Middle School director and the PK-12 director of visual and performing arts. This is a 1.0 FTE position teaching students in grades 6-8 on the Blake campus in Hopkins, Minnesota. Blake is particularly interested in candidates who will enrich the diversity of identity, lived experience and thinking that makes a community strong and empowers students to engage across differences. The search committee will begin reviewing resumes in early January and will continue to welcome applications until the position is filled. Blake will typically cover the travel and lodging costs for finalist candidates visiting from out of town.
