Superintendent/Principal Nett Lake School District ABOUT THE COMMUNITY/SCHOOL DISTRICT: With just 43 students, the Nett Lake School District, located in northern Minnesota, serves the community of Nett Lake and is closely tied to the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa. The district operates a single public school, Nett Lake Elementary, which educates students from kindergarten through sixth grade. It is dedicated to fostering academic achievement while preserving and promoting Ojibwe culture and language. The school features small class sizes, enabling personalized student attention, and offers a curriculum that integrates traditional academics with cultural teachings. Leadership Profile: We seek a superintendent/principal who possesses the following: 1. Visionary Leadership The candidate should possess a clear and strategic vision for advancing academic achievement, student engagement, and staff development while preserving the district&#8217;s cultural identity. 3. Strong Communication Skills Effective communication with students, staff, parents, tribal leadership, and the broader community is essential. The superintendent should be approachable, transparent, and an advocate for collaboration. 4. Commitment to Equity and Inclusion A focus on creating equitable opportunities for all students, especially those from historically marginalized backgrounds, and fostering an inclusive school environment is critical. 5. Operational Expertise Experience in managing the financial, legal, and operational aspects of a school district is essential to ensure efficient resource allocation and compliance with educational standards. SALARY/CONTRACT: A compensation package will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits will include health insurance, holidays, retirement benefits, vacation days, and other various benefits. Contract length is also negotiable, as provided in Minnesota statute.
