Start date: 8/25/25
Schedule: 1.0 FTE
Salary & Benefits: Dependent upon placement on the master agreement.
The District: Kittson Central School (Independent School District No. 2171) is located in the city of Hallock, Minnesota - but serves several rural towns nearby. The district is located in the northwest corner of Minnesota and is about an hour from Grand Forks and 1.5 hours from Winnipeg. The district has a philosophy of delivering an education that allows its students to achieve anything they want in life. Position Summary: Kittson Central Public School is currently seeking a dynamic and positive mathematics teacher to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year. We are looking for applicants who are passionate about creating and fostering a learning environment where all students can thrive. As a secondary math teacher (and all teachers,) Kittson Central wants a focus on motivating students to achieve their maximum potential.
Responsibilities:
Develop engaging lesson plans and instructional materials.
Translate lesson plans into meaningful learning experiences, integrating subject area content and technology.
Instruct students in specified subject matter, adapting teaching materials and methods to meet the needs of diverse learners. Assess, identify, and evaluate the needs of students, providing instruction in individual or group sessions while maintaining standards of behavior.
Evaluate student progress, maintain accurate records and prepare progress reports.
Communicate effectively with students, families through conferences and other means.
Stay current with professional development through in-service education and self-selected professional books and instructional materials.
Qualifications:
Minnesota 7-12 Mathematics Teaching License or the ability to obtain a Minnesota Tier 2 Teaching License.
Preference given to someone with credentials to teach College in the High School courses.
Familiarity with school and district rules, regulations, and procedures.
Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
Essential Skills Required:
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and families.
