Creating a safe social-emotional learning environment Job Summary The English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the English Language Learning program. The ELL Teacher works closely with faculty to build teachers&#8217; expertise in instructing students who are English Language learners; works directly with students to support their learning needs; and communicates frequently with families providing them with information about language and literacy development and their students&#8217; progress. Responsibilities * Design and implement engaging instruction either in the general education classroom or in pull-out sessions that leads to English language fluency in both conversational and academic situations. * Administer annual English language assessments to students who are part of the ELL program. * Work with the ELL team to identify staff development needs in best practices in English language acquisition and plan workshops to meet those needs. * As needed, participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, IEP meetings, and weekly academic and social student support meetings. * Maintain files for English Language Learning students that include assessment data, evidence of service provision, student work samples, and parent contact logs. * Remain up-to-date in English Language Learning/Bilingual Education law, regulations, research, and best practices. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree (preferred Master's degree) from an accredited college or university in ELL, literacy, or an equivalent. * Two or more years of ELL or general education teaching experience. * Understanding of standards-based and differentiated instruction, language acquisition, and English Language Learning best practices. * Minnesota State licensure in ELL/ESL -- Community School of Excellence School District #4181, 270 Larpenteur Ave West, St. Paul, MN 55113 Please submit the following: 1.
