JOB SUMMARY
The Digital AV Coordinator is responsible for high level oversight and lifecycle management of AV equipment, Software, and Services across the district to coordinates purchase, install, and ongoing maintenance for this equipment. This position would also be a Tier 2 escalation point for these technologies assisting technology support staff and others in successful integration and operation of these systems. A successful candidate would be knowledgeable on modern integrated AV systems and be a strong self-starter able work independently as well as with a team to achieve a positive outcome for the district.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide 2nd level hands-on support for digital AV devices. This includes classroom, shared, and large space audio equipment, display technologies (eg. Projectors, televisions, digital signage). It also includes video production equipment and networked display technologies. Repair and maintain items directly and utilizing vendors as needed.
* Provide training and leadership for level 1 technicians, Media staff, paraprofessionals and others in the areas of video production, displays & audio reinforcement, and digital AV support. Coordinate with technical staff on integration of new AV technologies into the environment to ensure systems are supportable, scalable, and meet department and district cybersecurity requirements.
* Owns Project & Change Management with regard to large and small internal AV projects as well as coordination with external vendors and district construction related to digital AV equipment. This includes hands on installation of display systems, audio systems and video production equipment. It also includes working with other district team members as well as network and trades work, and AV vendors to install equipment.
* Provide expertise and leadership in the purchasing of digital AV equipment, software and services. This currently includes classroom and large space audio equipment, display, digital signage, and other related technologies. It also includes light video production work.
* Provide resources for students and staff video production as well as support for the HS video production studio, class and club. Serve as an additional resource for video recording and other AV needs for the School Board and leading of other major live video events such as Commencement and School Opening events.
* Statement of duty/responsibility: Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Knowledge: Familiarity with supporting the following technologies: RF systems, Video display systems including projectors, television, digital signage, sound systems and video production equipment.
* Skills: Training skills, strong organizational skills, technical skills, computer skills, diagnostic skills
* Abilities: work well with students, staff and technology.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
* A degree or related experience in communications technology or visual arts related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
* 5 years experience in AV technology support.
* 5 years experience in Video production.
* 3 years experience in an educational environment.
* Experience in Project management
