Part-Time 6th Grade Social Studies Teacher Position (.5 FTE) Aspen Academy 2024-2025 School Year Aspen Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time 6th Grade Social Studies Teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. This .5 FTE (Half-Time) position is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is enthusiastic about history, geography, and civic education and is committed to fostering a love for learning in students. Position Overview: The 6th Grade Social Studies Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and standards-based instruction that aligns with Aspen Academy’s mission of academic excellence. This role requires collaboration with colleagues and a commitment to cultivating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Responsibilities: * Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic social studies lessons aligned with state standards and curriculum. * Foster critical thinking and inquiry skills through discussions, projects, and activities. * Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback. * Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular connections and school initiatives. * Build positive relationships with students, families, and the school community. Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field (required). * Valid teaching license in Minnesota or eligibility to obtain one (preferred). * Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive learning environment. * Passion for social studies and a commitment to student growth. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Compensation and Benefits: * Salary Rate: $22-$30ph, depending on experience and qualifications. * Benefits: Staff working 30+ hours per week are eligible for benefits.
