Position Summary: The elementary principal utilizes leadership skills, knowledge base, experience, and administrative skills in promoting the maximum educational development of each individual elementary school student. The elementary principal supervises secondary building staff and students. Specific Responsibilities: A. Performance Responsibilities: 1. Arrange teachers&#8217; schedules and assign students and teachers to classrooms. 2. Supervise and evaluate assigned teachers and non-certified, reporting any problems to the Superintendent. 1. Responsible for general condition and operation of buildings. 2. Conduct staff meetings on a regularly scheduled basis. 3. Work with curriculum committee in selection of materials, textbooks and equipment for use in the elementary school. 4. Selection of elementary staff. 5. Secure substitutes from master list as needed. 6. Plan parent-teacher conferences each year. 7. Be responsible for student accounting, discipline, attendance and grade reporting. 8. Plan teacher in-services as needed. 9. Be responsible for all state and federal reports. 10. Responsible for the implementation of school curriculum as approved by the district curriculum review committee and Board of Directors. 11. Work with the technology committee. 12. Promote public relations in the district. 13. Conduct exit interviews for departing staff members as directed by the Superintendent and Board. 14. Responsibility of Budget Administration. 15. Promote Positive Climate through the school. Demonstrate commitment to students, employees, patrons and the educational program.
