Area Special Education Cooperative (ASEC) is proud to serve 11 member school districts in northwestern Minnesota. The cooperative supports Ada-Borup-West, Climax-Shelly, East Grand Forks, Fertile-Beltrami, Fisher, Fosston, Red Lake County Central, Red Lake Falls, Stephen-Argyle Central, Warren-Alvarado-Oslo, and Win-E-Mac. POSITION SUMMARY: The Area Special Education Cooperative (ASEC) is looking for an interpreter to support our Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) students and interpreter team by serving across our member districts as needed. The Educational Interpreter will provide interpreting services and educational support (such as tutoring) in various settings. The primary role of the interpreter is to facilitate communication between DHH students and their educational communities, enabling the students to fully engage in their educational programs. Additional responsibilities, such as tutoring, attending meetings, and actively participating as part of the school&#8217;s educational team, may be included as long as they do not conflict with interpreting duties. The Educational Interpreter serves as a related service provider within a student's educational team. ASEC currently has a dedicated team of interpreters to ensure communication access for students who need it. PERSONAL SKILLS: * Ability to work collaboratively on a team * Adaptability based on changing needs * Adept in learning and using new technology CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: * Successful completion of an Interpreter Training Program affiliated with an accredited educational institution * Current, national interpreter certification (RID or NAD) or Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) Certification. * Individuals pursuing certification may apply and mentoring will be provided.
