Full Time Occupational Therapist
Cologne Academy (PreKindergarten-8th Grade Public School) - Cologne, MN is located in Carver County and currently enrolls approximately 750 students between our onsite and virtual academy.

Qualifications
• Licensed by the MN Department of Health as an Occupational Therapist
• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited institution
• National Board Occupational Therapy Certified
• Pediatric experience with school experience preferred
• Excellent skills in communication and collaboration (families and staff)
• Team oriented – working with other providers, teachers and families
Program Description: The occupational therapist will provide direct and indirect services to students in kindergarten through 8th grade. The students needing occupational therapy range
from mild needs to those who demonstrate more significant needs due to autism, cognitive delays and other neurological/developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide developmentally appropriate service based on individual needs
• Develop and implement IEPs that address each child's unique needs
• Use evidence-based practices and assessments to monitor progress and adjust services as needed.
• Work collaboratively with teams of services providers (e.g., occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, 1-1 paraprofessionals and special education teachers).
• Member of a team that provides integrated services in multi-disciplinary manner to promote greater generalizability of skills.
• Serve as a resource for general education staff to ensure that needs are accommodated in the general education setting (including adaptive seating, sensory and other equipment needs).
• Indirect services in the general education setting focused on working with the teacher to generalize student skills.
• Participate in planning and conducting multidisciplinary evaluations to determine needs for related services.
• Maintain accurate records, including assessment data, progress reports, and other required documentation for compliance purposes.
• Complete service logs on a timely basis for Medical Assistance billing submissions.
• Train, supervise and support paraprofessionals assigned to children on the ECSE teacher’s caseload.
• Participate in professional growth activities on a yearly basis including recertification for CPI, workshops, in-services, professional reading materials, and/or other available offerings consistent with district and program priorities.
