Job Announcement Position: K-12 Physical Education Teacher Location: W.E. Circle of Life Academy Open: 02-21-2025 Close: 03-07-2025 Pay: Teacher Pay Salary Benefits: Full Status: Full Time Circle of Life Academy is seeking a qualified candidate to be responsible for instructing students in assigned subject areas to ensure the Mission of the Circle of Life Academy School is met. The Position is responsible for creating a classroom environment that fosters, promotes, and develops an understanding of the relationship between healthy body function and exercise; that motivates each student to cultivate physical fitness. Outcomes: * Teaches knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, rhythms and dance, and individual, dual or team sports, and other appropriate learning activities. * Works cooperatively with cultural education teachers in planning and implementing a balanced physical education program that incorporates the Anishinaabe culture. * Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the COLA&#8217;s basic instructional philosophy and congruent with course and state standards; provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students. * Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment in the physical education areas. * Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress. * Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, and keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports, checklists, census forms, and other recordkeeping activities as necessary. * Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment in the physical education areas. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Skill in communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information to and receive work direction. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public. * Skill in classifying, recording, retrieving, and verifying information. Qualifications: * Must possess a bachelor&#8217;s degree in education or a related field and meet the Minnesota Department of Education licensure eligibility requirements to teach physical education. * Must be eligible for, or in possession of an appropriate Minnesota teaching license. * Driver&#8217;s license required. * Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
