Job Summary: The CAPS, CTE & College Credit Coordinator will oversee the development, coordination, and management of the student internships program (CAPS), college credit programming, and career and technical education (CTE) initiatives at Shakopee Public Schools. This position will serve as a liaison between students, teachers, local businesses, and post-secondary institutions, ensuring the successful integration of real-world learning experiences into the high school curriculum. The Coordinator will work closely with students to foster career readiness, professional development, and academic success. While this position will report to the Assistant Director of Learning, Teaching, & Equity, they will spend most of their time at Shakopee High School. Major Areas of Accountability: Shakopee CAPS Program Coordinator * Operational oversight and coordination of the Shakopee CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) program. * Facilitate and organize curriculum development, professional development and implementation for CAPS. * Collaborate with Academy Coach to develop and maintain community and post-secondary partnerships, and establish community internship experiences. * In collaboration with the Assistant Director, develop and update CAPS programs. * Address marketing needs through the development of website, print, and face-to-face communications. College Credit Programming Coordination * Oversee the planning and execution of college credit programs in partnership with local colleges and universities. * Work with counselors to track student participation and success * Partner with teachers on maintaining high expectations and inclusive pedagogy CTE & Pathway Curriculum Development and Articulation * Coordinates the curriculum review process for Academy Elective and Program of Study offerings to assure the district&#8217;s curriculum meets the needs of students and complies with state and federal requirements and standards. * Organize ordering and maintenance of materials/subscriptions/equipment for courses, grade levels or programs. * Ensure that CTE programs are updated to meet local, state, and federal standards. * Facilitate the creation, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of programs to meet identified student needs Carl Perkins Grant Management * Attend meetings regarding Carl Perkins implementation. * Communicate with teachers the needs and budget requests for Carl Perkins. * Monitor purchasing and implementation of resources accessed through Carl Perkins. * Maintain records regarding implementation of Carl Perkins. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Education, Career and Technical Education, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred) * Minimum of 3 years of experience in education program coordination, career services, or related field * Strong knowledge of career pathways, internship models, and college credit programs * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills * Experience with and knowledge of best practices for leading professional development * Experience with guiding teachers through a curriculum writing process * Ability to work effectively with students, parents, community partners, and school staff * Experience in workforce development or business partnerships is a plus * Familiarity with local, state, and federal policies regarding internships and CTE programs * Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines * Ability to travel between building Special Knowledge or Skills: * Demonstrated understanding of technology-related best practices based on the latest digital learning literature and resources * High quality instructional practices in all aspects of teaching and learning * Positive and professional demeanor to assist in creating a positive and professional working environment * Strong work ethic, organizational and time management * Strong and professional communication skills, both written and verbal * Desire and ability to lead and assist in planning and delivering high quality professional development Working Conditions: Office environment. Job Summary:
