* June 24th-July 3rd Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays 9:30-11:30 (12 hours)
* July 7, 14: 11:30-2:30 (6 hours)
* July 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17 9:30- 2:00 (27 hours)
* July 21th-July 24th 11:30-2:00 Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday (10 hours)
* 4 hours for classroom set up and due process (4 hours)
* Total Hours per assignment: 59 hours
Position Overview:
Hopkins Public Schools is seeking Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Teachers and a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to support students eligible for Extended School Year (ESY) services. These positions will work in a self-contained classroom setting, serving students with moderate to severe disabilities. Responsibilities include curriculum planning, direct instruction, and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.
Special Education Teacher Responsibilities & Requirements:
* Licensure: Special Education licensure required.
* Experience: Demonstrated ability to implement special education interventions for students with moderate to severe disabilities.
* Instructional Skills: Ability to provide specialized instruction in reading, math, written language, and functional life skills.
* Behavior Management: Skilled in implementing structured behavior management strategies.
* Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including paraprofessionals and related service providers.
* Cultural Competency: Commitment to working with students from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
* Assessment & IEP Implementation: Proficiency in assessment, diagnostic skills, and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Speech-Language Pathologist Responsibilities & Requirements:
* Licensure & Credentials for speech pathologist: Master’s degree in Communication Disorders and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
* Licensure & Credentials for special education teacher: Licensed in early childhood special education
* Direct Therapy & Collaboration: Provide direct speech therapy, collaborate with special education staff, and consult with teachers to support students' communication needs.
* IEP Implementation: Develop and carry out ESY-specific IEP goals and objectives.
* Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC): Familiarity with AAC systems and strategies to support students with complex communication needs.
* Team Consultation: Provide expertise and training for multi-disciplinary teams and paraprofessionals.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting.
* Interest in supporting students with diverse learning and communication needs.
Compensation:
HEA Union Contract
Range: BA: $45,627 - $65,024
MA: $50,702 - $82,203
Salary range to be prorated based on start date/FTE.
