POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Special Education Supervisor provides leadership, coordination, and oversight of special education services and programs within assigned member district(s).
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with cooperative, district, and federal, state, and local special education policies and regulations.
* Provide training, guidance, and technical assistance to district staff and administrators on legal and regulatory compliance.
* Coordinate staff development and facilitate special education transportation.
* Lead special education department meetings and serve as a liaison between the member district(s) and MAWSECO.
* Make recommendations on budgetary needs and staffing allocations.
* Support the development and implementation of curriculum, instructional strategies, programming, and facility planning.
This role requires strong leadership, collaboration, and expertise in special education to support the success of students, staff, and member districts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* A minimum of:
* A Master’s Degree in Special Education or a closely related field
* At least four years experience in a special education teaching or related services position
* Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* State of Minnesota Director of Special Education Licensure
* Minnesota driver’s license or evidence of equivalent mobility
