Waubun-Ogema-White Earth District #435 is currently in search of a Full-time Elementary Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The WOWE staff operates as "one team with one goal."
We are looking for a candidate who possesses excellent collaboration skills to work with our various community partners, a dedication to youth and curriculum, and a strong belief that every student can succeed. The W-O-W-E school district is located in Northwestern Minnesota, where the prairie meets the lakes and the pines.
Job Summary
Working under the guidance of the building Principal, the Licensed Teacher encompasses a diverse range of instructional positions. Their primary responsibilities include:
Developing lesson plans and delivering the district's curriculum in assigned instructional subjects.
Instructing students using these lesson plans and instructional materials.
Evaluating and assessing student progress to ensure alignment with instructional outcomes and objectives.
Licensed Teachers also actively engage in collaboration with other instructional professionals, administrators, parents, counselors, and district personnel to address student needs, tackle issues, support district learning initiatives, and contribute to curriculum and building-related matters.

Essential Functions
Delivers classroom instruction aligned with district curriculum and student needs.
Adapts lessons and teaching methods to support diverse learning abilities.
Plans and develops instructional materials, lessons, and activities per district goals.
Assesses student progress regularly and adjusts instruction as needed.
Evaluates student performance through tests, assignments, and other assessments.
Conducts parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress, strengths, and concerns.
Maintains a structured, respectful classroom environment following district policies.
Collaborates with colleagues and administrators to enhance student learning.
Provides leadership and guidance to instructional support staff.
Participates in school and district committees, task forces, and IEP meetings.
Engages in professional development to stay current with educational trends.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong understanding of teaching principles, instructional methods, and curriculum standards.
Knowledge of child development, learning styles, and assessment techniques.
Ability to plan and deliver effective lessons tailored to student needs.
Proficient in classroom management and fostering a positive learning environment.
Skilled in using educational technology for instruction and record-keeping.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging students, parents, and staff.
Capable of analyzing student data to inform instructional decisions.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and educational professionals.
Supervision of Other Employees:
While this position does not entail direct supervision of other employees, it does provide indirect supervision for the Paraprofessional(s) in the classroom.
(Summary: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects in the performance of the job.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Education and a relevant instructional subject area(s).
License:
Licensed in the State of Minnesota in the instructional area.
Experience:
Minimum completion of an assigned internship/practice teaching experience and degree program.
