Community Education Director & Kids Club Coordinator
Aitkin Public Schools – Aitkin, MN
Position Summary:
Aitkin Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Community Education Director to lead our district’s community education programs and oversee the Wraparound Care Kids Club Childcare for preschool students and Kids Club Childcare for PreK-6 students before and after school. This is a 1.0 FTE year-round position that has some flexibility, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students, families, and the broader community by providing enriching and accessible programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Education Leadership:
• Develop, implement, and manage a variety of community education programs, classes, and activities for all ages.
• Collaborate with school staff, community partners, and local organizations to enhance program offerings.
• Oversee program marketing, enrollment, and communication to maximize participation.
• Supervise and evaluate program staff and instructors.
• Manage the community education budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and program sustainability.
Kids Club Childcare & Wraparound Care:
• Oversee the preschool daycare program (Kids Club), ensuring a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment.
• Manage the before and after school care program for PreK-6 students, providing engaging and supervised activities.
• Hire, train, and supervise childcare and wraparound care staff.
• Ensure compliance with all licensing, health, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate scheduling, billing, and parent communication.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Recreation, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Community Education license required or willingness to obtain one is required
• Experience in community education programming and/or childcare program management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of childcare requirements and best practices.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, families, and community members.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience in program development and budget management.
• Familiarity with scheduling and enrollment software.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Work Schedule & Compensation:
• 1.0 FTE, year-round position.
