Middle School Math Teacher Gateway STEM Academy Location: Burnsville, MN Type: Full-Time School Year: 2024-2025 Position Summary Gateway STEM Academy, a K-8 charter school in Burnsville, MN, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Middle School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire and engage students in grades 6-8 through rigorous, student-centered instruction that builds mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and a strong conceptual understanding of mathematics. This role requires a commitment to culturally responsive teaching, data-driven instruction, and fostering a growth mindset in all students. Key Responsibilities * Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned math lessons that support students' understanding of key mathematical concepts. * Use a variety of instructional strategies, including hands-on learning, project-based activities, and technology integration, to enhance student engagement. * Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those needing additional support or enrichment. * Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and use data to guide instruction. * Promote a classroom culture that encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and perseverance in problem-solving. * Provide timely and meaningful feedback to students to support their mathematical growth. * Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and families to support student success. * Maintain high expectations for student engagement, behavior, and academic achievement. * Communicate regularly with families about student progress, classroom activities, and strategies to support learning at home. * Participate in professional development, team meetings, and school-wide initiatives to support continuous improvement. Qualifications * Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master&#8217;s degree preferred). * Valid Minnesota teaching license in Mathematics. * Experience teaching middle school math, with a strong understanding of mathematical pedagogy and adolescent learners. * Commitment to culturally responsive teaching and fostering an inclusive classroom environment. * Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with middle school students. * Proficiency in using student data to drive instruction and improve outcomes. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
