A Coach is responsible for overseeing the development and success of student-athletes or participants in a specific athletic or activity program. This role includes planning and conducting practice sessions, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development and ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. The Coach collaborates with other staff, maintains communication with parents, and supports the academic and personal growth of students. Additional duties may include assisting with team selection, managing equipment, organizing events or competitions, and representing the program within the school and community. Position Middle School Assistant Coach Athletic or Activity Track and Field Rate of Pay $2,477 stipend for the Season Hours Per Day Variable - Approximately 56 Days/100 Hours Schedule (Approximately) Practices: M-F 3:00-4:45 PM. Event days can run anywhere from 3-9:30. April 1, 2025-May 30, 2025 Working Days per Year Spring 2025 Benefits Benefits for this position are limited due to the limited and variable nature of the role. Benefits may be adjusted as the role becomes a long-term position. * Paid Time Off * Sick Leave/Earned Safe & Sick Time - Earn 1 hour for every 30 hours worked Bargaining Unit Not Applicable Qualifications Required * Must be able to make it to practice on time by 3:00 PM. * Previous experience in coaching or playing the specific sport/activity, with a strong understanding of the rules, techniques, and strategies. * Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff in both individual and group settings. * Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their best. * Knowledge of safety protocols, injury prevention, and first aid, with a commitment to ensuring a safe environment for all participants. * Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal development. * Availability to attend practices, games, and other team-related events, including evenings and weekends as required.
