Reading Intervention Teacher Gateway STEM Academy Location: Burnsville, MN Type: Full-Time School Year: 2024-2025 Position Summary Gateway STEM Academy, a K-8 charter school in Burnsville, MN, is seeking a passionate and skilled Reading Intervention Teacher to provide targeted literacy support for students struggling with reading. The ideal candidate will use evidence-based instructional strategies to accelerate student progress, close achievement gaps, and foster a love of reading. This role requires strong collaboration with classroom teachers, data-driven decision-making, and a commitment to culturally responsive literacy instruction. Key Responsibilities * Provide small-group and one-on-one reading interventions based on student needs. * Use evidence-based reading strategies aligned with the Science of Reading and Minnesota state standards. * Administer and analyze reading assessments (e.g., FAST, MCA) to identify student needs and monitor progress. * Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate literacy support into core instruction. * Develop and implement personalized intervention plans to support students at various proficiency levels. * Utilize structured literacy approaches, including phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension strategies. * Maintain accurate student data and communicate progress with families, teachers, and support staff. * Provide professional development and coaching for teachers on effective literacy instruction and intervention strategies. * Advocate for students who need additional reading support and ensure equitable access to literacy resources. Qualifications * Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Education, Reading, or a related field (Master&#8217;s degree preferred). * Valid Minnesota teaching license in Elementary Education, Reading, or a related field (or eligibility for licensure). * Specialized training in reading intervention programs (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, CORE, PRESS, or similar preferred). * Experience using data-driven instruction to improve student reading outcomes. * Strong knowledge of the Science of Reading and structured literacy approaches. * Effective collaboration and communication skills to work with teachers, families, and support staff. * Commitment to culturally responsive teaching and closing literacy achievement gaps.
