Math Intervention Teacher Gateway STEM Academy Location: Burnsville, MN Type: Full-Time School Year: 2024-2025 Position Summary Gateway STEM Academy, a K-8 charter school in Burnsville, MN, is seeking a dedicated Math Intervention Teacher to provide targeted support for students struggling with mathematics. The ideal candidate will implement evidence-based strategies to help students develop strong foundational math skills, close achievement gaps, and build confidence in problem-solving. This role requires collaboration with classroom teachers, data-driven instruction, and a commitment to culturally responsive teaching practices. Key Responsibilities * Provide small-group and one-on-one math interventions tailored to student needs. * Use research-based math intervention strategies aligned with Minnesota state standards. * Administer and analyze math assessments (e.g., FAST, MCA, classroom-based assessments) to identify student needs and track progress. * Develop and implement personalized intervention plans to support students at various proficiency levels. * Collaborate with classroom teachers to align intervention strategies with core math instruction. * Utilize hands-on, inquiry-based, and visual learning strategies to support student understanding. * Maintain accurate student data and communicate progress with families, teachers, and support staff. * Provide professional development and coaching for teachers on effective math intervention strategies. * Foster a growth mindset in students, promoting persistence and problem-solving skills. Qualifications * Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master&#8217;s degree preferred). * Valid Minnesota teaching license in Elementary or Middle School Mathematics, or a related field (or eligibility for licensure). * Experience using data-driven instruction to improve student math outcomes. * Strong understanding of evidence-based math intervention programs (e.g., Number Worlds, Do the Math, Bridges, or similar). * Proficiency in differentiating instruction and using manipulatives to support conceptual understanding. * Effective collaboration and communication skills to work with teachers, families, and support staff. * Commitment to culturally responsive teaching and closing math achievement gaps.
