Waconia Public Schools is looking for candidates dedicated to providing students with the opportunity to explore their passions and create their success! A fast-growing school district located near the banks of Lake Waconia and approximately 25 miles west of Minneapolis, Waconia Public Schools serves approximately 4,000 students and their families from the communities of Waconia, Victoria, Minnetrista, Saint Bonifacius, and New Germany. School District facilities include an educational services and enrichment center, area learning center, three elementary schools (K-5), one middle school (6-8), and one high school (9-12).
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
License Required: A Special Education License (any including DCD, ASD) issued from the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) is required.
Compensation: Salary and Benefits Pursuant to Waconia Education Association's Collective Bargaining Agreement from $46,146 to $91,608 depending upon qualifications.
Position Start Date: August 18, 2025
Application Procedure: We are currently seeking applicants with experience working with students on the autism spectrum and those with cognitive disabilities. Our center-based special education teachers support students with significant disabilities by providing specialized instruction in a highly structured setting (SCIP programs). They implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with a focus on functional academics, communication, life skills, and behavior support. Applicant experience, strengths, and preferences will be considered when determining role placement. Qualified candidates should apply online at www.isd110.org. Application materials must include an ISD 110 application, letter of introduction, resume, educational transcripts, and a current license issued from the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.
