Job Title: Spanish Language and Culture Teacher
Supervisor: Executive Director
Job Summary: Provide classroom instruction in Spanish Language and Culture.
Responsibilities:
* Teach Spanish language and culture to K-8 students.
* Incorporate Spanish culture into class activities.
* Infuse the Minnesota primary and intermediate graduation standards for foreign language into the ongoing curriculum.
* Develop cultural curriculum materials and instrcutional strategies for elementary students.
* Incorporate hands-on learning activities into daily instruction.
* Communicate often with parents regarding the program goals, classroom activities, and student progress.
* Provide a safe classroom environment for students.
* Collaborate with grade-level teams, administrator, and other staff to ensure the success of students.
Preferred:
* Native proficiency in reading and writing in the Spanish and English Languages.
* Successful elementary or middle school teaching experience.
* Ability to implement creative and innovative teaching strategies.
* Good organizational skills.
* Flexibility relating to student and program needs.
* Effective oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
* Work cooperatively with parents as educational partners.
* Commitment to the philosophy that all children can learn.
* Commitment to teamwork within an educational setting.
* Ability to write curriculum appropriate to student levels.
