Job Overview:
As a Licensed Clinical School Social Worker (LCSW), you play a pivotal role in supporting students, families, and the school community through a variety of challenges. This position requires a deep commitment to addressing social-emotional needs, mental health concerns, and personal crises while ensuring students have access to necessary resources. The LCSW engages in both direct client care and systemic advocacy, making this a multifaceted role that demands emotional resilience, professional expertise, and a collaborative approach. Salary Range: $44,500 - $76,000
Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
* Provide individual and group therapy sessions to support students' social-emotional well-being.
* Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to determine students’ needs.
* Develop and implement individualized support plans tailored to student success.
* Offer crisis intervention and prevention services for students.
* Teach coping skills to help students regulate emotions and improve resilience.
* Assist students with social-emotional learning and teach essential skills for academic and personal success.
* Collaborate with educators, school nurses, community agencies, and industry professionals to address student needs.
* Refer students to and serve as a liaison with outside agencies, ensuring access to appropriate resources.
* Maintain accurate and detailed student records in accordance with ethical and legal guidelines.
* Advocate for students’ needs and rights within the school and broader community.
* Educate students and families about mental health and coping strategies.
* Participate in regular planning and staff development activities.
* Engage in professional development for language immersion, Responsive Classroom, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program.
* Maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends in school social work, clinical practices, and education-based interventions.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
* Current Minnesota Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure.
* Minimum of two years of supervised clinical experience, preferably in a school or youth-focused setting.
* Social Worker license through the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB).
* Strong knowledge of community resources and social services.
* Experience in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and social-emotional learning programs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and documentation best practices.
* Ability to handle high-stress situations with professionalism and composure.
* Strong ethical standards and confidentiality practices.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience with group therapy and counseling preferred.
* International Baccalaureate (IB) experience preferred.
* Bilingual or multilingual abilities (Spanish and/or Mandarin Chinese preferred).
