The District consists of five buildings, all situated on a single, cohesive campus and serves approximately 2,800 students (K-12). Primary School (K-2), Intermediate School (3-5), Middle School (6-8), High School (9-12), and the Early Education Center which serves an additional 350 students. Becker&#8217;s mission is to develop self-directed learners to thrive in a changing global community. Overview: Becker Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to serve as the Director of Technology. This person provides strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of educational and administrative technology across the district. This role ensures robust, secure, and scalable technology infrastructure, while also supporting instructional technology integration. The Director will guide the district's vision for current and future technology systems, including the development of long-range planning for network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and instructional support. Key Roles and Responsibilities: * Technology Infrastructure and Systems Management (Primary Focus). * Oversee the district&#8217;s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, wireless systems, and firewalls to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing environments. * Manage and maintain the district&#8217;s Google Admin Console, Student Information System (SIS), device management platforms, and security protocols. * Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity plan to safeguard district data and systems. * Lead the development and implementation of a long-term device refresh cycle and network infrastructure plan aligned with educational and operational goals. * Administer and manage E-rate funding applications, compliance, and related reporting. * Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and system issues, ensuring minimal disruption to instruction and operations. Supervision and Staff Development * Supervise and evaluate Technology Paraprofessionals and Technology Integration Specialists. * Provide guidance and support to ensure tech paras meet service expectations in device troubleshooting and system support. * Support Integrationists in delivering instructional coaching related to digital curriculum tools, applications, and blended learning models. Student Engagement and Support * Establish and lead the Student Technology Advisory Council (STAC)&#8212;a student-led team trained to support classroom technology troubleshooting (iPads, laptops, and basic AV issues). * Collaborate with instructional leadership to develop a structure and training program for STAC aligned to classroom needs and district technology goals. Leadership and Strategic Planning: * Collaborate with district and building leaders to ensure technology supports instructional priorities, student engagement, and school operations. * Stay current on emerging technologies and best practices in both infrastructure and instructional technology. * Develop and manage the district technology budget, ensuring responsible use of funds aligned with strategic priorities. * Lead or contribute to the development of the district&#8217;s 3&#8211;5 year technology plan and ensure alignment with the strategic plan. Other Responsibilities: * Provide regular technology updates to district leadership and school board as needed. * Partner with vendors, consultants, and service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery and cost-effectiveness. * Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to technology use and data privacy. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements: * Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or related field. * Minimum 5 years of experience in managing IT systems and infrastructure in a school or similar public institution. * Experience supervising staff and managing budgets. * Demonstrated knowledge of networking, device management, cybersecurity, and cloud-based environments (especially Google Workspace for Education).
