Upper School Math Teacher Position Begins: August 2025 Status: Full-Time (.7 FTE), Exempt Department: Instructional Faculty, Upper School (grades 9-12) Salary Range: $32,766.63 - $55,942.60 Mounds Park Academy is a PreK-12 independent school in Saint Paul, MN that serves approximately 575 students from throughout the Twin Cities area. Mounds Park Academy seeks a full-time (.7 FTE) Upper School Math teacher preferably with experience in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics for the 2025 - 2026 school year. This position includes teaching multiple sections of Upper School math which may include algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics. Math teachers at MPA are responsible for providing a classroom instructional program that supports the individual needs of all students in accordance with the school&#8217;s mission and values. We seek individuals with one or more degrees in a math related subject and experience in teaching high school age students. It is expected that a successful candidate would: * Teach up to five (5) sections of Upper School Math * Emphasize critical thinking through content, research, and analysis * Make math relevant and meaningful by inspiring students * Create and use diverse lesson plans and syllabi as per MPA Math Curriculum Review * Supervise, encourage, counsel, and evaluate students * Foster and sustain an effective classroom environment that fosters open discussion with the freedom to express varied points of view * Utilize and incorporate available academic technology for instruction * Communicate and meet with students and parents during scheduled conferences and as necessary * Participate in Math Department and staff development activities * Revise and plan new curriculum in conjunction with other members of the Math Department * Show a willingness to contribute to the life of the school outside of the classroom * Perform additional duties as needed (serve on school-wide committees, attend open houses, advise a student club, etc.) Qualifications and Experiences Required: * Bachelor&#8217;s degree in one or more Math related subjects * Master&#8217;s Degree or equivalent, preferable * Five (5) years teaching experience at the upper school level or beyond * Experience teaching Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics, preferable In addition, a candidate should possess the following personal qualities: * Enjoy working with high school-aged students * Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills * Admirable leadership skills * Strong collaboration skills * Substantial organizational skills * An interest in and openness to professional growth and development * Commitment to diversity and inclusion * A sense of humor, warmth of personality, and energy * Flexibility This position offers benefits and a competitive salary.
