Lakes Country Service Cooperative, has multiple positions open for Special Education Teachers to join our staff at Lakes Country Academy, a setting IV program, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota for the 2025-2026 school year.
Located in the west-central Minnesota lakes area, Lakes Country Academy (LCA) provides specialized services to students (K-12) who are referred by their resident school district in a highly structured setting. LCA provides an integrated and collaborative approach where teachers and staff work collaboratively to teach academic and/or functional skills, workability/employability skills, and integrates social emotional learning, trauma-informed practices, and positive behavior regulation skills into day-to-day programming. Our teaching positions available are in our "Academy Program" for students with behavior challenges and our "Students with Unique Needs" (or SUN Program) for students on the Autism spectrum. Our program teams consist of highly trained professionals who are supported by administration, paraprofessionals, behavior specialists (BCBA and RBTs), a school psychologist, and a school social worker. Join a staff of experienced and dedicated professionals to experience a nearly 2:1 staff to student ratio environment with ample opportunities to truly make a difference in the lives of our youth.
Minnesota Tier 3 or 4 teacher licensure in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or Emotional Behavior Disorders (EBD) is required for these positions. The ability to obtain an ASD or EBD Out of Field Permission endorsement to a current Minnesota teaching license will be considered as will eligibility for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 license in EBD and/or ASD under certain circumstances. Experience working with K-12 students who experience challenging behaviors is preferred.
Salary will be adjusted for license tier, years of experience as a special education teacher, and degree held. Special Education Teacher pay range is from $47,600-80,000, depending on experience and training. This position includes a benefit package offering sick leave, health, vision, and dental plans, life and long-term disability insurance, 403B and Teachers Retirement Association (TRA) retirement savings.
