Lakes Country Service Cooperative, a leader in providing regional support for school districts, cities, counties, and other government agencies is looking for a part time licensed DAPE teacher to join our staff in the 2025-26 school year at Lakes Country Academy (LCA), a regional setting IV program serving students K-12. This position is an approximately 90 day contract.
Located in the west-central Minnesota lakes area, Lakes Country Academy (LCA) provides highly effective social skills training and highly accountable behavioral/academic programs for students with ASD and EBD in a highly structured setting. The successful candidate will work with K-12th grade students with Autism Spectrum Disorders/Emotional Behavior Disorders as part of our Setting IV program. Weekly travel to LCA sites in Alexandria and Fergus Falls will be required for this position.
Applicants should have the ability and skills to work with students who have significant social and emotional learning needs. The candidate will be expected to communicate effectively with students and co-workers and provide valuable contributions to the team process. The candidate will participate in DAPE assessments and individualizing programming for students who qualify for DAPE, consulting with LCA teachers to implement DAPE activities on the days the DAPE teacher is not on site.
Minnesota Tier 3 or 4 teacher licensure in DAPE is required for these positions. The ability to obtain a DAPE Out of Field Permission endorsement to a current relevant Minnesota teaching license will be considered as will eligibility for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 license in PE/DAPE under very unique circumstances. Experience working with K-12 students who experience challenging behaviors is preferred.
Salary will be adjusted for license tier, years of experience as a DAPE teacher, and degree held. Special Education Teacher pay range is from $23,538.46 - 39,560.44, depending on experience and training. This position includes a benefit package offering sick leave, health, vision, and dental plans, life and long-term disability insurance, 403B and Teachers Retirement Association (TRA) retirement savings.
