This full-time position is designed for an educator who is committed to supporting students with complex social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in differentiated instruction, behavior management, and individualized educational planning, along with a deep dedication to fostering student growth and success in a structured, supportive learning environment. This role requires ongoing collaboration with students, families, school staff, and community partners to meet individual needs, ensure safety, and promote a positive and inclusive educational experience. ________________________________ Key Responsibilities Instruction & Student Support * Deliver individualized instruction aligned with district curriculum, academic standards, and SEL goals. * Modify content and assessments based on student needs and IEP requirements. * Foster positive relationships with students and families, supporting the development of social and emotional skills. * Create and maintain a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment. * Guide students in conflict resolution and teach self-regulation strategies. Behavioral & Program Management * Maintain and enforce program expectations for student conduct and safety. * Support students experiencing dysregulation through positive behavior interventions. * Develop and follow daily instructional schedules, ensuring required instructional time and preparation time. Collaboration & Team Leadership * Collaborate with parents/guardians, administrators, support staff, and community agencies to support student success. * Provide guidance, training, and ongoing support to paraprofessionals, including collaborative planning for small group instruction and behavior support. * Work closely with itinerant staff and related service providers to coordinate services. Compliance & Documentation * Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal regulations. * Maintain accurate, confidential student records and progress data. * Administer assessments to evaluate academic, behavioral, and developmental progress. * Ensure compliance with all special education laws, policies, and due process procedures. Professional Engagement * Participate in staff meetings, team planning, and professional development. * Engage in continuous learning and growth, occasionally leading training sessions or collaborative planning efforts. * Contribute to a positive and productive school culture that reflects the mission and values of Up North Learning Center. ________________________________ Required Qualifications * Education: Bachelor&#8217;s or Master&#8217;s degree in Special Education or a related field. * Licensure: Valid Minnesota Special Education teaching license (any area).
