Job Summary: The Work Based Learning Coordinator at Shakopee High School plays a vital role in facilitating and overseeing work-based learning opportunities for students. This position is responsible for developing partnerships with local businesses and organizations, coordinating internships and job shadowing experiences, and ensuring that students gain valuable real-world skills that complement their academic education. The ideal candidate will be passionate about student development, possess strong communication skills, and have a commitment to fostering a collaborative learning environment. Education/Training/Experience: * MN teaching licensure in Special Education EBD, SLD, ASD or ABS is required. * Vocational CTE certification for Work Based Learning is required. * Previous experience in education, career counseling, or workforce development preferred. * NVCI (CPI) training preferred. * Experience working with a variety of disabilities, and the ability to deliver specialized instruction to meet the individual needs of these students. Training for specific needs of the students in the program will be provided by the district. * Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and community partners. * Knowledge of local labor market trends and workforce development resources.
