POSITION DETAILS Level: Middle School Grade: 7/8 Subject: Science Start Date: 2025-2026 Full Time FTE: 1.0 ROLE OBJECTIVES The Middle School Science Teacher will excite students with the wonders of the natural world. They will guide inquiries into life, earth, and physical sciences, fostering scientific literacy and a deep appreciation for the scientific process and its impact on daily life. KEY DUTIES Develop and deliver engaging lessons that comply with state standards and/or national standards. Facilitate classroom discussions to encourage students' understanding and application of historical events and societal trends. Assess student progress through a variety of methods and provide constructive feedback. Incorporate technology and other educational tools to enhance learning experiences. Develops and administers Science curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives. Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student learning. Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs. Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by the district. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Coordinates with other professional staff members and participates in PLCs and other monthly meetings. REQUIREMENTS Educational Qualifications: BA Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of content, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to engage and inspire students, and proficiency in using educational technology.
