Job Title: Certified Sign Language Interpreter
Location: Glencoe
Terms: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am – 11 am or 12 pm – 2:30 pm
Salary/Rate: Salary range: $35.00 - 55.00
About us: Our District serves the communities of Biscay, Brownton, Glencoe, New Auburn, Plato & Silver Lake Minnesota. We are located 1 hour Southwest of Minneapolis. We are a small District with approximately 1,600 K-12 learners, yet Glencoe-Silver Lake Public Schools is focused on meeting the academic and career needs of all students.
We have two elementary schools, one middle school, and a high school on two campuses.
Three of our schools (one elementary, the middle school, and the high school) are located in Glencoe, and one Elementary, “Lakeside” is located in Silver Lake.
About the role: We are seeking an individual to join our team at Lincoln Elementary in Glencoe to support students' communication and academic needs. This position is for 2.5 hours per day, for 2025-2026 school year.
Responsibilities:
* Interpreter will work 1:1 with a Pre-K Student.
* Works with staff to understand key concepts and improve the accuracy of translation for deaf or hard of hearing students
* Helps gather and prepare materials for students with disabilities.
* This position requires individuals to be caring, patient, and focused on achieving individual student goals.
Candidate requirements:
* Certified in American Sign Language
* Experience working with children
* Occasional or frequent lifting of 20 to 40 pounds or more may be required.
* Physical Activities including: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, repetitive motions.
* All job offers are conditional upon passing a pre-employment criminal background check and ISD 2859 School Board approval.
