Education/Certification: Current special education teaching license or eligible for an Out of Field Placement or Tier 1 license Experience: At least one year student teaching or approved internship Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of special needs of students Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal setting process and implementation General knowledge of curriculum and instruction Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Strategies * Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of the team * Implement an instructional program for assigned students and show written evidence of sessions and preparation as required * Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned * Participate in IEP meetings * Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan for instructional activities * Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and capabilities of each student assigned * Assess the achievement of the student on a regular basis through formal and informal testing and provide progress reports as required * Be a positive role model for students; support the mission of the school district * Facilitate IEP meetings and remain compliant with Due Process paperwork.
