The Assistant Director collaborates with district and school leaders to ensure instructional practices are aligned with district goals, state standards, and the diverse needs of all learners. This role ensures a consistent, high-quality instructional vision across all schools. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Lead the implementation and monitoring of district-wide instructional initiatives focused on improving student outcomes. * Collaborate with principals, instructional leaders, and teachers to support effective instructional practices in classrooms. * Analyze school- and district-level assessment data to assist in planning targeted instructional supports. * Help design and facilitate professional development sessions for teachers, instructional leaders, and administrators. * Support the Director in overseeing curriculum alignment and instructional resource adoption across grade levels and content areas. * Participate in instructional walkthroughs, classroom observations, and feedback sessions with school leaders. * Assist with the development and refinement of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and other collaborative teacher teams. * Monitor and support the use of evidence-based instructional strategies that promote equity, engagement, and academic excellence. * Stay current with educational research and innovations; assist in the dissemination of best practices district-wide. * Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive college and career pathways that provide students with opportunities to explore their interests and develop relevant skills. * Establish and maintain partnerships with post-secondary institutions, businesses, and community organizations to enhance pathway opportunities. * Ensure that pathways are aligned with labor market demands and provide students with access to high-demand careers. * Supervises teachers on special assignments within the teaching and learning department. * Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to integrate culturally responsive pedagogy into curriculum design, lesson planning, and classroom instruction. * Coordinate curriculum review and adoption cycles in response to legislative updates and academic standards revisions. * Lead the planning, compliance, and reporting requirements for all federal programs. * Other duties as assigned REQUIRED SKILLS * Project management, finance, budgeting, purchasing, contract and grant management, customer service, and employee supervision. * Planning, organizing, and coordinating the work of Department staff. * Evaluating workflow and effectively prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands. * Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands. * Operating a personal computer using standard and specialized software. * Communicating effectively verbally and in writing. * Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities. * Commitment to the District mission, which is to inspire and educate all learners to develop their unique potential and positively contribute to their community. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Master&#8217;s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field. * Administrative licensure (preferred) * Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience (K&#8211;12). * Minimum of 3 years of school or district-level leadership experience preferred. * Deep understanding of effective instructional practices, adult learning theory, and differentiated instruction. * Strong skills in collaboration, coaching, data analysis, and strategic planning. * Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and foster a culture of continuous improvement. SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning drives the continuous improvement of teaching and learning across all grade levels, PreK–12.
