Job Summary: * Middle School In-person instruction - 6th grade and 8th grade introductory Spanish - * High School Spanish - Online Spanish 3 * Implement best practice teaching and learning strategies into world language study. * Work collaboratively with team members to support the academic, social and emotional growth of middle level learners. * Collaborate with other teachers to design and coordinate common assessments and utilize data to target student needs. * Participate in regular PLC meetings as an active and engaged professional. * Communicate frequently with parents, colleagues, students, and administrators through all available means of technology. * Establish and maintain high standards for character growth. Qualifications: * Current Minnesota Teaching License required. * High level of content expertise required. * Strong communication skills * Committment to fostering a love of langauge learning in students * Demonstrated ability to support critical thinking in meaningful discourse in the content area. * Experience working with middle level students preferred. * Experience or openess to teaching a course online preferred * Effective classroom management skills. * Effective oral and written communication skills. * Demonstrated experience in collaboration and problem-solving. * Experience with curriculum and assessment design. * Understanding of the role of parent involvement and the ability to collaborate with parents. * Ability to use technology as an instructional tool. Bargaining Group and Level: Orono Education Association/Teachers COMPENSATION Full Year, Full Time BA Step 1 ($49,266) to EdS Step 20 ($105,958) INSURANCE .75 - 1.0 FTE Single Health: 100% Covered by District Employee + 1 Health: 75% Covered by District Family Health: 65% Covered by District Dental: 100% Coverage by District Life Insurance: $50,000 Covered by District LTD insurance: 100% Covered by District Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) OTHER BENEFITS TSA match after meeting conditions.
