5-8 Middle School Theater, Vocal and Dance Teacher- 0.5 FTE
Art & Science Academy (ASA), a public charter school district with two schools (grades K-4 and 5-8), is seeking a Middle School Theater, Vocal and Dance Teacher to begin August 2025. This is a 0.5 FTE position, with benefits. Position will remain open until filled.
Requirements:
* Current Minnesota K-12 teaching license inTheater Arts, Vocal Music or Dance
Qualifications
* Demonstrated ability to apply appropriate skills in daily routines
* Ability to operate a computer and necessary classroom technology
* Strong interpersonal skills to develop effective relationships with students, staff, and parents
* Maintain professional composure in diverse situations
* Initiative and self-starter qualities
* Experience in collaborative work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
* Experience in planning and coordinating the work of paraprofessionals and volunteers
Duties include, but not limited to:
* Develop lessons aligned with the MN State Standards
* Direct, coordinate, assess and lead the Theater, Vocal and Dance program
* Evaluate and assess student performance
* Conduct regular communication with parents
* Interpret student progress and work with classroom teachers to help determine interventions and accelerations
* Classroom management with training in Catalyst
* Participate in a collaborative work environment
* Support pre-designed arts integration lessons as needed
* Collaborate with special education teachers/paras and others involved in student progress
Position Specific Information:
* Work with fellow specialists to create events/programs/galas showcasing student achievements
* Catalyst (formerly Envoy) classroom management (training provided)
* CAPP (Comprehensive Arts Planning Program) in progress to support and advance arts education
* Small class sizes (max 22 students)

Art & Science Academy is located in Isanti, Minnesota. Isanti is 45 minutes north of Minneapolis-St. Paul and offers a small town feel with nearby big city amenities. ASA opened its doors in 2014 with a single K-6 school that served 160 students, and now serves almost 350 students in grades K-8 on two campuses (K-4 and 5-8).
