A district literacy specialist supports the district's implementation of the Read Act; delivers support to school-based coaches; assists and supports the implementation of structured literacy, interventions, curriculum delivery, and educator training; assists with the development of personal learning plans; and trains paraprofessionals/support staff to support classroom literacy instruction. Duties include tracking attendance and lead classes as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: * Oversee record-keeping process including intakes, attendance, and pre- and post-testing * Complete tutor training and lead small groups under the direction of a licensed teacher * Reviewing pre- and post- testing data * Assist in recruitment activities * Photocopying, creating, and delivering materials as needed * Support with external relations as assigned * Other duties as assigned BENEFITS: We offer a comprehensive benefits package for employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week.
