This position will also be responsible for providing support to district staff in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), assisting in behavior management planning and supporting the implementation of effective special education programming in HVED and member districts. Key Responsibilities: Evaluations & Reporting * Conduct academic assessments as part of special education evaluations and re-evaluations. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members (school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, etc.) to complete comprehensive evaluations. * Write clear, accurate, and timely evaluation reports aligned with state and federal guidelines. * Present evaluation findings at eligibility and IEP meetings. Direct Student Services * Provide individualized and small group special education instruction and services in accordance with IEP goals. * Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and data-driven interventions. * Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and adjust instruction as needed. IEP & Team Support * Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to develop, implement, and review IEPs. * Support district staff with IEP meeting preparation, facilitation, and documentation. * Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations and timelines. Behavior Management * Assist in the development and implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Interventions, and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs). * Provide consultation and modeling for staff around behavior strategies and supports. * Support a positive and inclusive school climate through behavior interventions and team-based problem solving. Program Support * Contribute to the continuous improvement of special education services and programming across HVED and member districts. * Participate in professional development and remain current with best practices and legal requirements in special education. * Collaborate with administrators and staff to support inclusive practices and differentiated instruction. Qualifications: * Bachelor&#8217;s or Master&#8217;s degree in Special Education or related field. * Valid Minnesota teaching license in Special Education * Experience with special education evaluations and report writing preferred. * Strong knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education law. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and general education staff. Work Environment: This position may involve working across multiple school sites and grade levels. Must be able to manage a flexible schedule that supports student and district needs. Salary: $52,443 - $85,862 based on education and experience. Full benefits package also available. HVED also has a Setting IV Behavior Program, Students Achieving Integrated Services (SAIL) that provides programming for students in grades K-12 with challenging behaviors currently receiving special education services.
