Job Title: 1.0 School Social Worker
About PiM Arts High School:
PiM Arts High School is a tuition-free, public charter high school open to all students in grades 9 through 12 in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Since 2004, our rigorous performing arts and academic curriculum has provided a rewarding environment for student artists to grow.
Students are engaged each day in classes that challenge them to expand their academic achievement and their artistry. PiM Arts High School offers classes in Vocal and Instrumental Music, Theatre, Dance, Musical Theatre, Visual Arts and Media Arts with arts endorsement options in each area. PiM Arts High School has advanced level classes in all academic areas, with additional electives offered. Our program meets and exceeds all state mandates in academic provisions, while also providing artistic rigor with the fullest performance calendar of any four-year performing arts high school in the Twin Cities.
Qualifications:
Licensed graduate or clinical social worker in the state of MN or ability to be licensed in the state of MN
At least two years of licensed practice experience
Skills:
Excellent problem solving skills
Responsive and adaptive in situations of crisis or safety risk
Knowledge of and experience in skills based mental health interventions
Ability to contextualize student challenges to address immediate and long term needs
Ability to build quick rapport with students and parents
Ability to triage and prioritize tasks to address changing needs
Strong supervision approach
Responsibilities:
Oversee/provide special education services for students with social/emotional goals in IEPs
Write or oversee writing of quarterly progress reports and IEP goals
Supervise Masters of Social Work students completing Foundation/Generalist practicums
Respond to crises in the building as they arise
Participate in Child Study process; meet with parents and students to identify needs and interventions
Coordinate 504 plans by overseeing writing and application of plans building wide
