Position Title
Jr. Kindergarten Assistant
Status
Part Time, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, student contact days (9-months, school year calendar); non-exempt ($20/hr)

Position Summary
Support classroom instruction under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
Job Responsibilities
General teaching assistant support: instruction, supervision, guidance, and other duties as directed by the classroom teacher.
Job Requirements
Experience and enjoyment working with young children. Able to support the teacher and grade level team through task completion and meeting desired needs. Self-starter/proactive work ethic, confidence leading large and small groups of students in assigned activities. Able to supervise students during outside and inside free time activities.
Spiritual Qualities
The person in this position shall possess characteristics that reflect: Acceptance without reservation of the Chapel Hill Academy Community Covenant and Statement of Faith ● Solid Biblical worldview ● Spiritually mature, actively involved in person faith development ● Follower of Jesus Christ; bornagain/saved Christian
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Stand or Sit – Stationary position - must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time ● Walk – Move, Traverse – must be able to regularly move about the office/classroom/school ● Use hands/fingers to handle or feel – Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect – constantly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment ● Reach with hands and arms – Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect – occasionally required to reach overhead ● Must be able to lift at least 10 pounds.
Preferred Experience
Educational training ● Prior experience leading young children
