7th & 8th Grade Volleyball Coach
Season Start Date: August 18, 2025
Practices and games: Monday-Friday and occasional Saturdays; times may vary
Description:
The primary responsibility of the 7th & 8th grade Volleyball Coach is supervising the participants enrolled in the program during practices and games.
Responsibilities:
* Attend all practices, matches, and tournaments during the season, including both home and away competitions.
* Practice is expected to start the week of August 18, 2025, and the season will continue through October 9, 2025.
* A jamboree play date is expected on or around September 6, 2025.
* Provide supervision on buses to all away events.
* Assist students in developing and improving various volleyball skills.
* Assess students' volleyball skills to determine areas in need of improvement.
* Develop innovative ways to assist beginner and younger students in learning and remembering the rules of the game.
* Identify the best learning styles for each student and adapt coaching methods accordingly.
* Provide a secure and productive learning environment for students.
* Communicate, manage, and work with 7th and 8th grade volleyball players and their families.
* Develop a daily practice plan for each practice session.
* Come prepared to each competition with a game plan for the match.
* Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* Any combination of experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and skills. Coaching certification preferred.
* Candidates should:
* Have proven experience working as a volleyball coach.
* Have previous volleyball playing experience.
* Understand the rules of volleyball.
* Collaborate with the girls' varsity volleyball coach to meet the long-term needs of the girls tennis program.
* Skills and Abilities:
* Sound knowledge of various coaching techniques
* The ability to motivate students
* Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Exceptional communication and customer service skills
* First Aid and CPR certification preferred
* Physical Demands:
* Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to provide own transportation to all practices and competitions.
* Able to lift 50 pounds and move equipment needed for the program
Season Compensation Range: $1,500-$2,000
