General Definition of Work Performs intermediate professional work facilitating Personalized Learning to help ensure instructional practices using technology as a tool for teaching and learning 21st Century skills, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Director of Technology and Security Services. Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Essential Functions Plans and facilitates instructional practices using a learning management system with iPads to support Personalized Learning. Conducts staff development in the areas of technology integration as needed for Personalized Learning. Facilitates Personalized Learning Planning Committee meetings. Collaborates with teachers, staff, and students to evaluate and select resources addressing curricular needs and learning goals for Personalized Learning. Leads the ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of Personalized Learning. Informs and advises the Director of Technology and Security Service regarding overall Personalized Learning with specific concerns or issues that require the director's involvement or attention. Attends meetings and professional development training necessary to support the successful implementation of Personalized Learning. Collaborates with Teaching and Learning Department to build shared beliefs and programs and promote innovative thinking and practices. Model and implement effective coaching and facilitation strategies. Model effective instructional practices that align with the P21 framework. Provides administration information to assist in decision making to further develop and improve Personalized Learning. Designs and provides effective professional development to faculty and staff regarding educational technology and 21st century skills. Apply a comprehensive knowledge of developments and trends in educational technology, 21st century learning, information skills and management issues. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Comprehensive knowledge in digital communications to include verbal, written and visual modalitites; comprehensive knowledge of individualized education plans; thorough skill creating and maintaining standardized reports; effective interpersonal skills and the ability to promote innovation, change and continuous improvement in education with students, teachers and staff; general skill operating standard office equipment, hardware, software and related peripherals; some skill working with standard account software; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and similar professional groups. Education and Experience Master's degree with coursework in in technology, or related field and moderate experience with personalized learning with strong technology support, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing, frequently requires sitting and occasionally requires standing, walking and using hands to finger, handle or feel; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a quiet location (e.g. library, private offices). Special Requirements Minnesota Department of Education License Experience working in a multi-cultural setting with diverse groups of people preferred. Alternatives to the qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable will also be considered. Valid driver's license.
