This role focuses on creating a consistent support system between home and school to promote positive behavior, increase academic engagement, and ensure student success in the classroom. Assignment: Non-Certified Major Areas of Accountability Student Support & Behavioral Intervention * Provide one-on-one and small group support focused on behavior and some academic needs * Support students in crisis and de-escalate challenging behaviors using trauma-informed practices * Model and teach social-emotional skills, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution * Monitor, document, and assess student progress in alignment with behavioral and academic goals Family Communication & Outreach * Serve as a liaison between home and school to foster consistent communication and collaboration * Conduct family outreach to strengthen parenting skills and promote supportive home environments * Communicate regularly with families about student progress, needs, and available resources Collaboration & Intervention Planning * Partner with teachers, counselors, and administrators to develop and implement intervention strategies * Attend and contribute to student support team meetings (e.g., SST, IEP, 504) * Help create inclusive, behaviorally supportive classroom environments * Refer students and families to school-based or community mental health and support services as needed Documentation & Reporting * Maintain accurate records of student behavior plans, interventions, and progress * Prepare reports for grants, evaluations, or data tracking as required Job Requirements Education & Experience * Associate&#8217;s or Bachelor&#8217;s degree related to education (preferred) * Experience working with children in educational or behavioral support settings Skills & Knowledge * Understanding of trauma-informed practices and behavior management strategies * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to build trusting relationships with students and families from diverse backgrounds * Organizational and documentation skills * Knowledge of community support systems and school referral processes Working Environment: * Must be able to manage physically and emotionally demanding situations with calmness and professionalism * May involve walking, standing, or responding quickly to behavioral needs in classrooms or other settings ISD #435 is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
