The expectation thereafter will be that this position will lead to a positive return for itself, offsetting the initial cost in investment. Business and Grants Development Officer Position Summary: We are seeking a results-driven revenue and grants officer to join our district team. The Business and Grants Development Officer will direct and execute a comprehensive strategy that helps Hopkins Public Schools realize sustainable financial growth. This individual will be responsible for driving revenue growth through effective communication, partner- and relationship-building with key existing and potential donors, grant providers, partners and business owners. The ideal candidate will possess a background in public and/or private finance and business development, with general knowledge of fundraising rules and finance/grant policies for public schools, the ability to analyze market and business development trends as well as district needs to provide opportunities to create strategic partnerships for Hopkins Public Schools. Scope of Responsibilities: This class specification lists the major duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive. Incumbent(s) may be expected to perform job-related duties other than those contained in this document and may be required to have specific job-related knowledge and skills. Partner Development and Engagement * Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing partners and donors through cold and warm calling and follow-ups. * Execute upon a recently developed grants database as well as identify new business and grant opportunities by analyzing market trends and strategic partnerships. * Regularly communicate with accounts to proactively address concerns, gather feedback and identify opportunities for account growth. * Enhance and maintain CRM platform for Hopkins Public Schools Strategic Planning * Develop and execute a multi-channel annual fund strategy, including direct mail, email, social media, and personal solicitation efforts. * Negotiate contracts and close deals while ensuring partners share the established vision and values of Hopkins Public Schools. * Collaborate with E-12, Community Education program leaders, Hopkins Education Foundation, and the Superintendent's Cabinet to achieve revenue goals for the upcoming fiscal year. Leadership and Collaboration * Report to the Cabinet and School Board on funding acquisition activities, new and existing leads, and report on goals through collaboratively designed metrics. * Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to create compelling messaging and partner marketing materials. * Provide leadership within the &#8220;revenue acquisition&#8221; team by mentoring representatives and sharing insights on effective procurement strategies. Desired Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * Proven experience in endowment management or business development is preferred. * Demonstrated ability to meet targeted revenue goals. * Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively. * Demonstrated negotiation skills with a focus on achieving win-win outcomes. * Familiarity with education or public finance policies. * Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform target marketing strategies. * A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making in an educational environment. * Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders cross-functionally to support varying needs across the organization. * Familiarity with different CRM systems used to manage client, donor and partner databases commonly used in education and nonprofit settings. Education and Experience: * Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Education or a closely related field. * Three (3) years of relevant professional experience. * OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: * Driver&#8217;s license.
