We offer an early learning center for pre-school and kindergarten students, including a community education center. This center includes many outdoor and indoor active learning spaces. Jefferson Elementary provides programming for grades 1-4, focusing on small group instruction, responsive classroom, STEM opportunities, and core curriculum. We offer a middle school structure and environment for grades 5-8, focused on advisory, exploratory, and experiential learning opportunities. Our high school is for grades 9-12, offering college, vocational, and work-ready courses. We have many opportunities for fine arts and athletics for all students. A Career Technical Education (CTE) Center provides students opportunities in automotive, welding, manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, construction careers, and cabinetry.

Long Term Substitute Special Education Assessment Coordinator – Jefferson Elementary School
Location:
Jefferson Elementary School; 318 South Payne Street, New Ulm, MN
Desired Qualifications
* Coordinate and facilitate special education evaluations in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
* Conduct or support the completion of comprehensive educational assessments.
* Serve as the district representative in IEP meetings.
* Maintain timely communication with families, staff, and external providers.
* Support teams with writing evaluation reports and IEPs aligned to student needs.
* Assist with compliance monitoring and documentation.
Desired Qualifications
* Licensure in ABS preferred; DCD and ASD will be considered
* Knowledge of the evaluation process
* Knowledge of service delivery models and supporting the continuum of special education
* Ability to relate and communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators from diverse cultures
* Ability to problem solve with staff and teams
* Knowledge of district special education programs
* Understanding and experience in assessment and data-driven decision-making
