Student Support Specialist Oak Hill Montessori Community School (OHMCS) is seeking an experienced Student Support Specialist to develop and implement a school wide literacy and intervention system, beginning Fall 2025. We serve children 16 months through 8th grade with our lower school being tuition based, and upper school being tuition-free. General Summary of Position This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position, with typical on-site hours of 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, M-F, throughout the 10 month school year. The Student Support Specialist&#8217;s responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: District Assessment Coordinator * Design and implement a school-wide assessment calendar for state required testing * Guide the creation of an assessment process OHMCS can leverage in the planning for, implementation of, and analysis of student assessments * Generate initial feedback of faculty&#8217;s excitement/barriers to implementing assessments and using formal assessment to drive classroom instruction * Support Casa, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary and Junior High in testing logistics prior to and during testing windows * Support Casa, LE, UE, and Junior High faculty in understanding, interpreting, and using assessment data to drive instructional planning and decision-making * Identify cusp students most at-risk of not meeting grade-level expectations * Oversee and manage the implementation of standardized assessments: FASTBridge, MCA, WIDA, and all other standardized assessments MTSS Coordinator * Coordinate, schedule, and participate in the MTSS Process * Coordinate, schedule, and participate in Student Support Team process * Provide direct academic interventions to a caseload of K-8 Oak Hill students * Create individual and/or small group lessons directed at building academic skills needed to promote students&#8217; academic growth * Develop a consistent process all staff can refer to and use to identify students at-risk of falling below grade level expectations and implementing/documenting tiered systems of support * Coordinate, schedule, and participate in 504 process READ ACT Coordinator and Literacy Lead * Support implementation of evidence-based Structured Literacy practices in pre-K through grade 12 to improve literacy outcomes * Merge current MN Academic Standards with the Montessori Pedagogy * Make Literacy curriculum recommendations * Coordination of Tier 1 and Tier 2 Academic Interventions and Progress Monitoring * Coordination of Tier 1 and Tier 2 Behavioral Intervention and Progress Monitoring * Ensure OHMCS staff are trained on and administer an approved universal screener * Support inclusion of summary data in Local Literacy Plan submissions due annually on June 15. * Support data collection and analysis to effectively inform instruction to support student growth and achievement across all Tiers. * Primary liaison for teachers as the READ Act Coordinator: * Understand and implement the READ ACT requirements at OHMCS * Ensure OHMCS meets the READ ACT statutes * Understand the professional development requirements for staff and ensure compliance with all professional development statute requirements, ie LETRS Training. Required Qualifications * Master&#8217;s degree in reading, education, or special education * MN Teaching license in reading, special education, or kindergarten-grade 6 * Minimum of 5 years experience in English Language Arts instruction * LETRS/ OL & LA/ CAREIALL Certification or Certified Facilitator * Experience planning, implementing, and evaluating district wide initiatives and professional learning Preferred Qualifications * Terminal degree in reading, education, or special education Salary & Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. $50,000-$60,000, PTO, TRA contributions medical, dental, short and long term disability insurance & life insurance (covered by school), 40% tuition remission. Salary & Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. $50,000-$60,000, PTO, TRA contributions medical, dental, short and long term disability insurance & life insurance (covered by school), 40% tuition remission.
